Lesson 28:
Foam Ball Two Finger Catch
The purpose of the Mini Foam Ball Two Finger Catch Drill is two fold.
One, it is great for pocket awareness. If the catcher can consistently catch the mini foam ball between their index finger and thumb, receiving a baseball in the pocket of their mitt will become much easier.
And two, the tracking, timing and precision needed to catch the small, light ball while only using two fingers is a great way to improve the hand eye coordination of the catcher.
You can flip the ball in the air and to make it even more challenging by bouncing the ball.
