Heavy Ball Receiving
Hand, wrist and forearm strength are essential for receiving success.
A great way to help develop that strength is to flip weighted balls to the catcher. These are 2-pound sand med balls. You may need to utilize a smaller or heavier ball depending on the age, hand size and strength of your catcher.
The ball should be flipped to varying locations and not to the same spot every time while having the catcher start with their receiving hand on or near the ground, working up to receive the ball.
