Tennis Ball Barehand Quick Pitch (Soft Hands & Quick Hands)
It is important for the catcher to be quick with their receiving hand while also staying soft (meaning NOT going to strong to the ball).
A great drill to help with both of these components of receiving is Barehand Tennis Ball Quick Pitch Receiving.
Although the catcher in the video is in a left knee down stance, it is important to practice this drill while in all of the different set ups a catcher will use throughout a game.
