Lesson 6:
Timing of Set Up
It is important that the catcher waits to set up until around the time the pitcher lifts their leg to initiate their pitch.
If we set up any earlier, we could be giving away pitch and/or location. If we set up an later, we could distract the umpire and/or pitcher because some hate late movement by the catcher.
The actual set up is more important than the timing but if we can utilize good timing along with a proper set up, that is when we will have the most success.
