    Live Curveball Receiving

     view description
    • One of the keys to successful receiving is either STARTING your mitt in the area of your anticipated pitch location or MOVING your mitt to the area of the anticipated pitch location as the pitcher is releasing the pitch.

When expecting a breaking ball (or other off speed pitch), the mitt should go all the way to the ground (turf or dirt) because we want off speed pitches to be low and, we want our mitt to be under the plane of the pitch.

Notice where the catchers mitt starts and that he is moving up to the pitch on every repetition in this video.
