Lesson 46:
Back and Forth | Warm-Up
I use this drill as a serve warm-up with most of my students.
It is a good way to get the shoulder loose, a feel for the toss, contact and serve technique.
By starting up close (at service line), the players will not be hitting the ball too hard when warming up therefore avoid shoulder injuries.
Drill:
The player begins serving from the service line.
For every ball sent inside the service court, he takes a step back (towards the baseline). For every miss (hitting the net, or out), the player takes a step forward.
Eventually, the player will get to the baseline where he will begin delivering the ball with more pace.
