Lesson 8:
Ball Tracking and Footwork - 2
A good exercise for beginning players that can be used as a warm-up or during the first couple of lessons.
It teaches the player to keep the eye on the ball bounce and speed while learning to move the feet and stay ahead of the ball.
The coach will feed a ball and call a number (1, 2, 3, or 4) before sending it over the net. The number represents how many times the player will let the ball bounce before catching it.
She will have to move the feet and turn sideways while shuffling and waiting to catch the ball.
