Lesson 18:
Toss-Turn-Catch
This drill is good for quick reaction, speed and hand-eye coordination.
The player is at the baseline, with the back to the net; the coach is at the service line, facing the baseline, and holding two balls (one in each hand).
At "go!", the coach will toss one of the balls, to which the player must turn around quickly, see which ball has been tossed, and try to catch it before it bounces twice.
Repeat a few times being creative with the ball toss: short, further away from the coach, etc.
