    One Short / One Deep

     view description
    • This is a good drill for practicing groundstrokes, a good workout, and learn how to hit the ball from different parts of the court.

The coach, who is inside the service court, having a basket of balls to feed from, will alternate between sending short and deep balls for the player who begins at the baseline and moves back-and-forth practicing groundstrokes.

The player will hit back-and-forth forehand groundstrokes, then do the same on the backhand side.

The coach should pay attention to the technique, and encourage the player who, at some point, might begin to get tired.

Do about 10 repetitions on each side.
