    Sprint-Catch-Stop

     view description
    • This is a good drill for speed and hand-eye coordination for any level of play.

The player begins at the baseline facing the coach who is about halfway between the baseline and service line, also facing the player.
The coach, in the beginning, holds a ball about the shoulder level, and drops it; the player must quickly run and catch the ball before it bounces two times. Repeat.

After 3-4 sprints, the coach can add the element of surprise holding one ball in each hand, spread the arms to the side, and let one of the balls drop making the player guess and react to the respective side.

It is a fun way to practice speed and get a good workout.
