Lesson 4:
1. Exchange/Transfer Description
When done correctly, the exchange (also called the transfer) is actually a deflection of the ball off of the pocket of the mitt, into the throwing hand. We don't want to "catch" the ball and then grab it. We want to change the direction of the ball (like middle infielders do) and deflect it into the hand for the quickest possible release time.
