3. Explanation of Arm Shape & Arm Path
Arm Shape is the position of the throwing arm during the throwing process. We want the elbow at or inside 90 degrees. Most elite level throwers are around 65 degrees of elbow flexion. And most are slightly internally rotated meaning the upper arm is at or close to parallel to the upper arm.
Arm Path is the direction the arm moves to get into throwing position and the direction should be in a straight line, directly to throwing position. We don't want any loop in the throwing motion. As the ball is going up and back, the mitt arm goes up and out (some more than others).
