Lesson 5:
2. Location of the Transfer/Exchange
The exchange/transfer is performed somewhere at the midline of the body to the right shoulder (right handed throwers). It is NOT performed at the ear.
We want to get the ball out of our mitt as quickly as possible because we can move our hand and the baseball a lot faster than we can move our mitt. Additionally, brining our mitt arm elbow back too far will cause some issues biomechanically with our throw.
