Player A is at the baseline, deuce side. The other two players, B and C, are on the opposite side, behind the baseline center having a cone placed just inside the court.
A basket of balls is situated behind the baseline, same side as B and C.
Drill:
One of the players (B) puts the ball in play hitting it cross-court (to player A) then circles the cone making room for his partner to step in to hit the next ball. From here on, the two players will circle the cone after each shot alternating cross-court and rallying with player A one ball at a time.
They practice only forehand groundstrokes (backhand if left handed).
On the other side, player A stays put and hits the ball to only one direction (deuce side / cross-court).
After about 2 minutes, players B and C switch to practicing backhands down-the-line circling the cone after each shot.
Rotate players after about 4 – 5 minutes so that everyone gets to practice in each position.
