A mini-net is placed on the service line, and the coach (F) is ready to feed from next to it (see graphic below). The player (A) is on the other side, baseline, ready to practice.
The coach will feed to the player shouting instructions to hit the balls so that they either pass over the mini-net (deep) or land before it (short).
Notes:
- Great drill for teaching/learning depth control.
- The coach should instruct the player to apply more spin for the short balls and less for deep ones.
