The coach (F) is ready to feed balls from the basket, about halfway between the service line and baseline.
Players form two lines behind the service line, with the first player from each line stepping up to execute the drill.

Drill:
1. The coach will alternate feeding a ball for each player to execute a forehand volley; the players move up to hit the ball closer to the net; then they back-pedal back to the service line.
2. Players move up to execute a backhand volley (fed by the coach), then back-pedal to the service line.
3. Players move up one more time towards the net to execute an overhead.
Repeat this sequence three times with each pair of players after which they step aside making room for the next players.

Notes:
- a polly spot can be placed halfway inside each service box for players to execute a split step before hitting the volleys, or just to move up after touching the service line;
- the waiting players can be kept busy executing various exercises such as jumping jacks, and ladder/cone drills.
