Two players are at the net, as a team (A and B) – they are the champs. The rest of the players (challengers) pair up next to one of the net posts. The coach is next to the doubles alley, same side as the net players. (see graphic below)
Drill:
The coach feeds 3 balls:
1. High ball (as a lob) for the first pair of players to chase, return and play against the net team.
2. Groundstroke for baseline players to play against the net team.
3. Short ball to bring the baseline team (challengers) up towards the net and play against the champs.
The challengers must win 2 out of the 3 points to become champs; otherwise, they move to the end of the challengers' lines and make room for the next two players to play.
