The coach is inside the deuce service box, the player opposite the side at baseline ready to serve from the ad side.
(1) The player serves and gets ready…
(2) The coach feeds a ball which the player hits back to the coach (3)
(4) The coach volleys it back, and the player hits it away to the open court As soon as the player hits the last ball, the coach feeds another one; the player hits it back to the coach, the coach volleys it back, player puts it away.
Repeat the previous pattern one more time.
Do this drill with the coach in the ad service court, the player(s) serves from the deuce side.
Note:
– for large groups of players, have each player jog around the court or do certain tasks (footwork drills, balls pick-up etc.) after each series so that players do not stand waiting in line for too long before their turn comes.
