Set-up:
Team A-B is in one-up-one-back formation (A at the baseline, B at the net). Team C-D is at the net. The coach is at the corner of baseline and doubles side line same side with player B.

Tactical Purpose: In case of a short lob toward the net team, the back player should let her net partner know to move back quickly; net player moves quickly closer to the baseline in a defensive position.
Drill:
The coach will feed a high lob that is meant to land inside the service court on the team C-D’s side. Team C-D will intend to let the ball bounce before they hit it so that player B has time to move back (only for the purpose of this drill to avoid injuries).
As the coach feeds the high lob, he’ll call “Back!” to let player B know that she should move back quickly.
Play the point out starting this way until one team wins 4 points then everybody moves one spot clockwise.
Note: Player B should turn sideways and either shuffle sideways or cross-cover steps to move quickly away from the net.
