There is one player at the net (A) inside the deuce service box; on the opposite side, there is player (B) at the deuce baseline and player ( C ) at the net inside the ad service box. A basket of balls is positioned close to player A to feed from and begin the rally.
Drill:
Player A puts the ball in play by sending it to B.
B will return the ball to A who will volley it towards the close player C.
C will volley the ball back to A who will volley it towards B.
This pattern (A-B-A-C-A…) continues until one makes a mistake. As soon as that happens, player A will pick another ball and continue the pattern.
Rotate players’ places after every 2 minutes so that they all practice from different positions.
Notes:
– repeat this drill with the singles player inside the ad service box;
– the rallies should be cooperative and no winners should be attempted;
– good drill for developing quick hands, control, and placement at the net.
