Player A is at the baseline, deuce side; players B and C are on the opposite side: B at the baseline – cross-court from A; C is at the net on the ad side. (see figure)

Game:

The point begins with either a coach putting the ball in play (feeding to the single player, A) or with player A feeding the ball to B. The two players (B and C) can only hit the ball to the half of the court where A is playing (between the doubles sideline and center line); A can hit anywhere in the opposite court.

Once the point begins the two sides play the point out.

If player A wins the rally and the last shot comes from player B (baseline player), she gets 1 point. If she wins a point by beating/passing the net player C (down-the-line) she gets 3 points.

On the other side, players B and C win points as follows: 1 point if A makes an error (hits the net or out), 3 points if the last shot was hit by the net player ( C ).

The first side to win 15 points wins. Players rotate clockwise so each player gets to play single.

Note:

The purpose of this game is to encourage the net player to be active (going for a higher number of points) and also to put pressure on the single player (A) to try to pass the attacking net player.
