The coach (F) feeds from just inside the baseline, the player is on the opposite side behind the baseline.
Drill:
The coach will feed balls side to side beginning closer to the middle and then wider and wider. The player will practice hitting, alternating, forehand and backhand groundstrokes until he will not be able to get to the ball anymore, due to exhaustion. Count how many balls the player was able to retrieve during this drill.
Note:
– The coach should feed only when the ball (hit by the player) passes him to give the player time to begin his recovery for the next ball.
– Do this drill towards the end of the practice because players will be quite tired after performing it.
