Two teams of players line up into single file lines behind the baseline (or service line for smaller kids). The coach is on the other side of the net having a basket of balls ready to feed from. Cones (10 – 20) are spread out on the court, same side and behind the coach. (see graphic below)

The Game:
The coach will feed balls alternating to the first player in each line. They will practice forehand and, respectively, backhand ground-strokes attempting to knock any of the cones down (or just hit them) to get a point for their team. Each player takes their turn hitting one stroke then moves to the end of their line to make way for the next player.
The coach should give them a time of, let’s say, 2 minutes (or until a full basket becomes empty) for the teams to accumulate as many points as they can.
At the end of the time limit, the team with the highest number of points wins the game and then switches sides (right and left).
Play it again having players who practiced forehands before going for backhands.

Note:
The coach should keep it fun and pay attention to their technique which could get sloppy when kids become too competitive.
